Neolamprologus Signatus : is a small shell-dwelling cichlid endemic to Lake Tanganyika, it is an elongated fish golden brown in colors with multiple vertical darker stripes, the male develop more vertical striped and the female showcase a bright copper belly as she gets more mature. They have a dark edging on the dorsal fin, which make it very attractive when they are displaying in the aquarium. It is a very active and attractive fish with unique behavior. They have a different body than Multifasciatus and Similis, their body is elongated. All shell dweller cichlids like nice round snail shells where they can hide and breed. With multiple shell laid out throughout the aquarium, this fish will feel safe and will be interesting to watch. Over time they will breed, form nice small colonies and take care of their young. This fish will do well in aquarium of 10 gallons and up. It is a hard water species that will need a ph of 7.5 and up, temp of 78-80 would be optimal. This fish will accept a wide variety of food and are not picky eater.
