Red Ludwigia is an amphibious plant that will grow either partially or fully submersed. In its fully submersed form, its spade-shaped leaves range in color from dark green to brownish-red. The top of the leaves are typically olive green in color, and the undersides are reddish-brown to deep red. The vibrancy of this plant depends greatly on the amount of light it receives. When poorly illuminated, the colors will fade.
bioAquatiX has been making these plants available because they do so well in our bioBowls, but they also work very well for any nano tank or even large aquariums.
It is very difficult to find a stem plant with red coloration that will grow in aquariums that are not injected with CO2 and fertilized regularly. However, Red Ludwigia fits the bill nicely.
It is a stem plant that can grow to 20+ inches in height. Red ludwigia can also grow emersed and will grow above the aquarium water if given the chance in small aquariums
